Employee Advocates for Your Brand

Employee advocacy is a key improve productivity in any organization. A happy and engaged employee is much more likely to be more productive than their counterparts – Engaged employees provide twice as much work productivity in the time as unengaged employees/ 40% – 80% of customer satisfaction is affected by employee attitudes. Study revealed six trails of engaged employees i.e. Believe in their organization, Have the desire to work to make things better, Understand the business context and the bigger picture, Are respectful and helpful to colleagues, Are willing to go the extra mile & Stay up to date with developments within their industry. Many organizations are missing a key opportunity to turn engaged employees into advocates for their brand.

Steps in beginning Employee Advocacy Program:

1. Goals & Key performance can be established to create focus and make them deeply engaged i.e. new customer acquisition, project profitability, customer satisfaction index, etc. and indicate its associated incentives that an employee can earn! – This requires well-defined Top-down executive buy-in.

2. Identify and target right employees – Select the leader “who serve as Advocacy champion”, below him set of members is associated “founders club” they executive the program till it gets optimized before it becomes company-wide. This program provides greater visibility for the employee – who raises the top once the program hits company-wide.

3. Focus on engagement and activity levers – Invest on strategy, enablers that provides valuable content that enables employee experience, pride and feel motivated to share those!

4. Reward and recognize early adopters – This encourage employees to express positive energy, act, opinion about the organization which will have a cascade effect that leads to positive cultural change.

5. Monitor, control, react & revise – Fine tune results that offering best employee recognition to most effective advocates.

6. Make it circular – Employees can teach each other and share what it works.

One of the biggest must-haves for an employee advocacy program is that your team believes in the work that they’re doing. Without employee buy-in, your program will not be successful. An official long-term program to empower trusted employees to engage with customers and prospects are representative of the organization!
